Following on from a fantastic 2023 where we saw more customers than ever pass their practical driving test first time. 2024 has taken off to a flying start with 4 practical driving tests at the Gillingham driving test centre. We are very proud to say that each and every driving test has passed first time keeping our 1st time pass rate at 100% so far. Whilst we a realistic that not everyone will pass first time its a great feeling to start so strongly. Redy2Drive have been offering Automatic driving lessons 2019 having started out originally in 2008. Also in 2019 the owner John Edy decided that not only would he take the driving school to automatic training only. He also decided that is was time to take the driving school from diesel to electric only. Since then Redy2Drive hasn’t looked back. We are now & still the only all Electric driving school offering driving lessons in Gillingham, Chatham, Strood, Rochester, Sittingbourne & Sheppey.
Why Electric cars
So why did Redy2Drive go all electric. With climate change very much in the news John wanted to do something less impactful. The then current diesel Mini was coming to the end of its contract. So whilst looking at a new car option petrol cars were too expensive on fuel and then John saw the Hyundai Kona. A more expensive to purchase vehicle but when yuo add in the running costs it matched that of the outgoing diesel Mini. This just fitted all the requirements as John already had wanted to go electric. The automatic element also made great sense. Back in 2012-13 just 87,844 driving test were automatic compared to 2022-23 of 324,064 thats four times more automatic driving test in 10 years with each year being fairly static with one million driving tests overall. With a smoother quieter drive, learning to drive in an electric car is so much less stressful and so becomes an easier way to learn. Redy2Drive January 2024 Roundup www.redy2drive.co.uk
